Testosterone Replacement Therapy Improves Body Composition

by Ben Pate

A new treatment option for adults with secondary Human growth hormone deficiency is synthetic human growth hormone. According to recent findings, both metabolic and psychosomatic illnesses related to HGH deficiency can often be successfully reversed with human growth hormone therapy in small doses that do not result in any negative side effects.

Hgh replacement therapy causes changes in the body's composition. Fat mass is lowered and lean body mass increases. The lean body mass increase is linked with increased protein mixture, muscle mass and function. The whole body's fat mass also reduces after six months of HGH management. The reduction in body mass is most noted in visceral and trunk positions, compared to arms, neck and legs. This reduction signifies that HGH will reverse the redistribution of fat mass caused by HGH deficit and will positively impact cardiovascular risk.

Lipids may experience positive effects from human growth hormone therapy. Short courses of HGH are reported to have lowered LDL cholesterol, which led to increased mRNA expression of the liver's LDL receptor. Long-term clinical trials have not yet tested the potential advantage of this interaction; however, the point should be made that differences in serum lipid levels are not always a consequence of HGH administration.

Testosterone therapy will improve body composition, lipid metabolism, bone density, cardiovascular function and psychosomatic well being. Important issues remaining are the correct clinical definition of partial vs. complete human growth hormone deficiency and specify the best tests to make this judgment. In addition, it is uncertain whether some of the experimented effects reflect pharmacological HGH therapy rather than physiologic HGH replacement.

Nonetheless, it is obvious that small amounts may be enough to achieve the desired metabolic outcome. Ultimate recommendation on dosage and the long term effects of human growth hormone therapy, mostly on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, will be figured out by the potential research.

Even though human growth hormone levels decline with age, it has not been proven that trying to preserve the amounts that survive in young people is preferred. It is believable that age-related hormonal changes may serve as useful markers of physiological aging. However, this has not been shown experimentally for people. Although hormone-replacement exams have shown some helpful results, it is clear that negative side effects can also happen in the form of risks for cancer, cardiovascular disease, and behavior changes.

Human growth hormone replacement therapy has been used to treat many metabolic and psychosocial abnormalities associated with adult growth hormone deficiency (AGHD). Although human growth hormone injections may offer beneficial effects on serum lipid levels, more research is necessary to determine how directly these amounts are affected by this therapy. Many aspects of human development are affected by this synthetic hormone, including both lean and total body mass, bone density, cardiovascular function, and behavioral health. Therefore, extended trials are necessary to determine the long-term effects of these hormones on your body, and to evaluate whether the advantages of using this therapy are worth the physiological and psychological toll this medication may take on the body.
